Producing new garments isn't sustainable and we don't pretend that it is. Since we are in the business of making goods, we have a responsibility to offset and understand the scope of our environmental impact. First and foremost, we produce in limited quantities to avoid leftover inventory and waste. In a system where brands destroy billions of dollars of merchandise annually without batting an eye, we hope to disrupt this system permanently.

In addition, we are re-distributing our profits to areas of need. We are in partnership with leading environmental non-profit organizations that enable us to undo some of the damage that comes with producing garments.

1% For The Planet

In 2019, we joined 1% for the Planet. Each year, we contribute 1% of our annual revenue to a group of charities that are dedicated to protecting our mother earth, its ecosystems and wildlife. Every
Order= 1 Tree Planted

For each order placed, a tree is planted in the north-west region of Madagascar through the Eden Reforestation Projects. Eden are experts in responsible reforestation, having planted 265 million trees to this day and created 2.6 million work days for local communities. Madagascar is a nation with over 200,000 species of plants and animals that don’t exist anywhere else in the world. Sadly more than 90% of Madagascar’s original forests have been destroyed, displacing entire animal species from their homes.

Climate Neutral Certified

Sporty & Rich has successfully achieved Climate Neutral Certified status by measuring its 2019 greenhouse gas emissions footprint, purchasing carbon credits to offset that footprint in its entirety, and implementing plans to reduce emissions this year and beyond. Carbon credits go toward reducing and capturing carbon dioxide, and supporting a range of projects such as forest conservation, renewable energy, and transportation.

100% Biodegradable Packaging

(Will begin with with Summer Drop 3) Our mailers and polybags are 100% biodegradable. This means they’re made of plants, not plastic so you can feel a little less guilty about ordering online. For best composting results, remove the shipping label (recycle it), cut into small pieces and throw into a compost bin.

100% Climate Positive Workforce

As proud members of Ecologi, we are able to reduce the carbon footprint of each of our employees, as well as offsetting any business travel (which we keep to a minimum). Ecologi calculates the amount of CO2 emissions we produce as individuals within the company, and allows us to offset those emissions with monetary donations to projects that work to reduce atmospheric CO2 levels. Each month we are able to offset 30.2 tons of CO2 on behalf of our employees.

We Produce Domestically

While not all of our items are made stateside, we ensure that 95% of our products (all fleece, tees, hoodies and sweats) are produced domestically, here in Los Angeles. Our cotton is certified USA grown and our fabric is milled at our factory. It's important that we outsource as much as we can locally so that we are able to provide jobs for workers and reduce emissions from transportation— our logistics centre is located in California as well. Having our main factory near by is also our way of ensuring our quality is consistent, something that we know is important to our community.
